Beautiful Inside & Out

Congratulations to my dear friend S, who is expecting her first baby around Thanksgiving. This time of year holds a special place in my heart because both of my kids are Thanksgiving babies. I had the pleasure (not!) of hospital turkey twice, as my daughter was born the day before Thanksgiving in 2002, and my son was born two days before Thanksgiving in 2005.

I have known S since we were 14 years old, and we attended both high school and college together. I know that she is going to be a great mom because she has such a strong nurturing instinct. Plus, she is always prepared. Even when we were teens, if you ever needed a band-aid, tissue, or tylenol, she would inevitably have what you needed right there in her purse.

P.S. One of the upsides to being my friend is that I will shoot pictures for you. One of the downsides of being my friend is that I will process everyone else's pictures ahead of yours. LOL! Thanks for your patience, S&R. Proofs coming soon!

The Final Countdown.....

I did a maternity session today for a friend who just also happens to be an engineer-turned-photographer. Sound familiar? It's even more ironic if I tell you were are both ex-Abbott engineers.

I am always slightly nervous shooting another photographer, as we all do things differently and have different expectations. Plus on a whole, we photographers tend to be pretty anal retentive about our work. LOL! The session ended up going great, and I am so excited to work on her images.

I am heading out of town for a couple of days but wanted to throw a couple of images up here for her before I leave. It looks like that baby could even be here before I get back.

We're on the cover!

Well ok, SHE's on the cover, not me. LOL!

I am so excited to let everyone know that the new Expectant Mothers Guide to Chicago is officially available at obstetricians offices around Chicagoland. Special thanks to my great client A, the gorgeous cover girl you see here. We had such a great time with her maternity session and as you can see, that fun and energy really comes thru in her resulting photos.

A, I am expecting some hard copies of the magazine to arrive shortly and will pass them along to you as soon as I get them.

A Little Family Time

The studio will be closed May 19-31 for some much-needed family time. I will respond to any requests for orders or appointments after June 1st.

Speaking of family time, I just want to wish the best of luck to A & W (not the root beer, those are their initials!). They are coming into the final weeks of their pregnancy, and may even have their baby before the studio reopens in June. What a lucky baby he/she will be. This photo really reflects the love between these two.
